You need Deako Connectors installed in your walls for the Deako Intelligent Switches or Dimmers to snap into. You’ll also need a Deako Intelligent Hub, which runs Deako Intelligence and processes all data locally. For the wellness check-in feature — where the Intercom can ask your loved one if they’re okay — you’ll need at least one Deako Intercom Switch.

No. Deako Intelligence uses only lighting switches with built-in radar and sensors. There are no pendants, wristbands, or devices to charge or remember to put on. The monitoring is completely passive.

Not unless you choose to add them. Parent Care’s core features — activity monitoring, fall detection, nighttime pathway lighting, and pattern alerts — all use mmWave radar. Radar detects presence, position, and small movements without capturing images or video. Cameras are an optional add-on for specific rooms and are always opt-in.

The radar measures presence, position, movement velocity, and breathing rate. It produces sensor readings — coordinates and motion data — not images or video. There is no footage of any kind from the radar.

The radar continuously tracks your loved one’s position in the room. A sudden vertical change (consistent with a fall) followed by extended stillness on the floor triggers an alert. The system accounts for normal activities like bending over or sitting on the floor — it looks for the combination of impact-like motion and immobility that characterizes a fall. If an Intercom Switch is in the room, it will ask your loved one if they’re okay before notifying you.

Through the Deako app and SMS. You’ll receive push notifications and text alerts for significant pattern changes, falls, or unusual inactivity. Routine activity data — like a daily summary of your loved one’s day — is also sent so you can check in on your schedule without waiting for an alert.

Deako Intelligence continuously adapts. If your loved one starts waking up later or spending more time in a different room, the model updates. It distinguishes between gradual lifestyle changes and sudden deviations that may need attention.

All radar processing and pattern learning happens locally on the Deako Intelligent Hub. The only data that leaves the home are the notifications and activity summaries sent to authorized family members. Raw sensor data never leaves the home network.

Not at launch. We take emergency escalation seriously and want to get it right. Parent Care is designed to detect what’s happening and notify your family quickly so you can take action — including calling emergency services yourself. If automatic emergency dispatch is important to you, let us know. We’re actively exploring this feature.
