1. Intercom turns every room into a communication point

Every Deako Intercom Switch has a built-in speaker, microphone, and millimeter wave (mmWave) radar. 

Intercom uses mmWave radar to know which rooms are occupied in real time. 

When you say “Dinner’s ready,” it broadcasts only to the rooms where your family is – and skips the empty ones. 

A built-in speaker and microphone means every room with a switch can send, receive, and relay voice – without a single additional device.

2. Intercom gets smarter by the day with Deako Intelligence

The radar and audio data gets processed by Deako Intelligence – our algorithm that runs entirely on your Deako Intelligent Hub.

Deako Intelligence learns your communication over time. It starts anticipating how your family interacts and adapts the system to reduce interruptions and improve conversations. 

What the model learns:

  • Broadcast targeting — When you announce dinner, the system knows your kids are usually in the playroom and bedrooms at that hour. It routes there automatically. 
  • Context-sensitive volume — Intercom adjusts volumes based on ambient noise in each room. A quiet bedroom gets a softer delivery. A loud kitchen gets a louder one. 

How a home with Intercom looks like:

You’re arrived home after a trip to the store. “Can someone come help me with the groceries?” you say to the garage intercom. It reaches the family room and the office – the only rooms with people. 15 seconds later, your family shows up to help you.

[ LOST & FOUND ]

“Has anyone seen my soccer cleats?” Your child asks from their bedroom. You’re folding laundry in the basement. You respond: “Check the trunk of my car.” A few minutes later, your child says “Found them!” from the garage intercom.

[ DINNERTIME ]

“Dinner’s ready!” You say it once from the kitchen. It plays in the bedrooms where the kids are doing homework and the office where your partner is. Save your voice for the dinner table conversations.

You must have Deako Connectors installed in your walls for the new Deako Intercom Switches to snap into. You will also need a Deako Smart Home Hub, which allows Deako Intelligence to run and process data locally.

The built-in speakers and microphones in each Intercom Switch handle intercom communication. For rooms where you want enhanced audio, you can also connect Wi-Fi enabled or DLNA-compatible speakers.

Multiple options: voice activation from any switch (“Hey Deako, tell the kids dinner’s ready”), a gesture on the physical switch, or the Deako app. Over time, Deako Intelligence will also prompt routine-based messages proactively.

Yes. You can direct a message or conversation to a specific room.

The system uses noise rejection and volume intelligence to create a natural listening experience — not a speakerphone feel. Directional audio processing in each switch reduces echo and background noise. For rooms where you want the best audio, connect higher-quality speakers.

Delay is dependent on your Wi-Fi signal strength. Assuming you have extremely fast Wi-Fi, you may expect a delay of around half a second. 

No. All voice detection, routing, and processing happens on your local Deako hub. No audio is ever sent to a cloud server, stored externally, or shared with third parties.
