Smart was just the beginning. Meet Deako Intelligence™.

Meet Adaptive Lighting powered by Deako Intelligence™

Experience lighting that knows you – illuminating your path before you enter, adjusting colors to optimize for your well-being, and turning off after you walk away. Every room responds before you can even reach for a switch or open up your app.

How it works

Adaptive Lighting requires:

Deako Intelligent Switches or Dimmers

Deako Intelligent Hub

For circadian lighting capabilities.

Matter over Wi-Fi, Zigbee, or Thread-compatible color tunable (RGBW) bulbs

1. It’s more than just motion-sensing

2. Gets smarter by the day

This radar data gets processed by Deako Intelligence – our algorithm that runs entirely on your Deako Intelligent Hub.

Deako Intelligence learns your patterns over time. It then builds a predictive model of your household’s rhythms and starts getting ahead of them, so your lights are on and adjusted before you even enter the room.

What the model learns:

  • Wake patterns — What time you leave the bedroom and which room you head to first. Lights are on before you arrive, at the right brightness.
  • Room occupancy — How long you typically spend in each room. Lights pre-dim toward the end of your usual window, then shut off after you leave.
  • Circadian timing — When your household moves from active to quiet, lights across the home gradually warm and dim on their own. The model uses your actual rhythms, not a preset.
  • Weekend vs. weekday rhythms — The model knows Saturday mornings look different. It adjusts automatically, without a schedule you have to set.

3. It promotes your well-being

What a day with Adaptive Lighting looks like:

[ MORNING RUSH ]

The house is finally empty – the kids are out the door and you’re on your way to work. Radar confirms it room by room and Deako Intelligence cross-checks it against your family’s typical departure time on the weekdays. Every light automatically turns off. No more forgetting to turn off the lights and no more wasted energy.

[ FOCUS TIME ]

You’ve been working at your desk for the past hour. A motion sensor would have turned the lights off minutes ago. Adaptive Lighting knows you’re still there and the lights are set to a balanced, natural tone to help you focus during your most productive hours. After a few weeks, it knows you normally work here on weekday afternoons – the office is lit the way you like before you even sit down.

[ NIGHTTIME ROUTINE ]

It’s late evening and you’ve been watching TV on the couch. The lights in the living room start to shift to a warmer amber color. Your body is getting the signal to wind down. As you head towards the bedroom, the hallways automatically light up, illuminating your path. As you tuck in for the night, radar detects that all motion has ceased within the home and all the lights in your home turn off for the night.

You must have Deako Connectors installed in your walls for the new Deako Smart Sensor Switches to snap into.

In addition to Deako Connectors and Smart Sensor Switches, you will also need to purchase a Deako Smart Home Hub, which allows Deako AI to run and process data locally.

An optional add-on for circadian lighting are Zigbee/Matter-compatible color tunable bulbs.

If you have Deako Connectors already installed in your walls, setup is plug-and- play. The Smart Sensor Switches snap in directly into the Connector. No electrician, no professional installation, no tools required. Most people have their first room up and running in minutes.

If you don’t yet have Deako Connectors installed, you will need to replace your existing switch boxes, which will generally require a licensed electrician. Once Connectors are installed, every upgrade is plug-and-play going forward.

Circadian lighting is a lighting technology designed to align with the human body’s internal 24-hour clock, known as the circadian rhythm. It mimics the natural progression of sunlight throughout the day to support physical, mental, and behavioral changes.

The system automatically adjusts two primary factors: 1) color temperature and 2) intensity.

Benefits of circadian lighting include improved sleep quality, increased productivity, and enhanced mood and energy.

No. Adaptive Lighting requires the use of the yet-to-be-released Sensor Switches since they contain the mmWave radar modules.

The more rooms covered, the better the whole-home experience — and the more accurate the predictive model. A single room works and delivers value immediately. The path-prediction and habit-learning features improve significantly with multi-room coverage.

A standard passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor detects movement — when something crosses its field of view. mmWave radar is continuous and volumetric. It doesn’t wait for movement; it actively measures the space in front of it and detects presence, position, and micro-movements like breathing. This means it knows you’re in the room even when you’re completely still.

You’ll notice meaningful improvements within the first two to four weeks. The system needs enough data to distinguish your patterns from random variation — weekday versus weekend, your schedule versus your family’s. By the end of the first month, the predictive model is substantively personalized. It continues to improve over time as your routines evolve.

Always. Any light can be controlled manually at any time — via the switch, voice, or Deako app. Manual overrides are noted by the system and can inform future predictions if they happen consistently (for example, if you always manually dim the kitchen on Friday evenings, the system will start doing that on its own).

Entirely on your Deako hub — a local device inside your home. The machine learning model is trained on your data, on your hardware, in your home. It never syncs to a cloud server, never connects to Deako’s infrastructure for processing, and never contributes your household’s data to any shared model.

The radar produces sensor readings: location coordinates within the room, movement velocity, and breathing-rate estimation. It does not produce images or video. There is no footage of any kind from the radar.
